Selection and Identification ◎ In terms of appearance, authentic Zhuyeqing tea has a flat and straight shape resembling bamboo leaves, an oily green color, a relatively smooth leaf surface, distinct particles, and a relatively heavy body. High-quality Zhuyeqing tea has no insect holes, uniform size, and relatively thick leaves. ◎ In terms of inner quality, premium Zhuyeqing tea, when brewed, yields a yellow-green and bright liquor, with tender green brewed leaves. It has a rich and mellow taste with little astringency. Inferior products, due to shorter growth periods, have thinner leaves and may exhibit some bitterness reminiscent of dried bamboo leaves, tea liquor, or single leaves. ◎ Distinguishing Zhuyeqing spring tea from summer and autumn tea: Zhuyeqing spring tea has plump buds that are pointed at both ends and fuller in the middle, with uniform particles, no insect holes, and no pesticide residues. When brewed, the buds absorb water slowly and sink to the bottom gradually. Zhuyeqing summer and autumn tea has slender buds that are flat in the middle, often with pesticide residues and insect holes. When brewed, they sink quickly, taste slightly bitter, and lack a sweet aftertaste.
